New Brunswick’s forest cover 85% of the landbase and half of the area in publicly owned (Crown Lands). Since its existence, the Northern Hardwoods Research Institute has aligned its research and development operations to address current challenges of the entire forest products sector in the province. During the second part of the conference plenary session, we will present the NHRI and highlight its workplan that is aligned with the challenges the sector is facing as presented by the Department of Natural Resources and Energy Development of New Brunswick discussed during the first part of the plenary session.
